Where is it?

"La Cala" as this charming village is affectionately known to local residents, lies approximately 25 minutes drive west from Malaga International Airport. The long sandy beaches are well cared for and clean. Whilst La Cala village retains a flavour of the ´real´ Spain, it has also taken on, in a small way, something of an international flavour.

You will find international banks, doctors, lawyers and dentists equal to those in the UK or any part of Europe. This has helped to make the area a first choice for many wishing to retire away from the harsher climate of Northern Europe.

Medical care is first class - the new Costa del Sol Hospital is no more than 15 minutes in the direction of Marbella. English, German and French daily newspapers are in the newsagents each morning before 9am.

Our Opinion

In addition to the quaint old fishing village, lovely beaches and thriving commercial areas, La Cala and its immediate surroundings have an abundance of good quality sports and recreation facilities. There are tennis clubs, gymnasiums, dive centres and virtually every outdoor activity within minutes of the village.

Of course special mention should be given to the superb golf courses at La Cala Resort (Europe's largest golf resort) Santana Golf and El Chaparral - these courses are available to non members, tuition is available and equipment can be hired. La Cala is a property hotspot right now, with many new and off-plan opportunities becoming available.
